Private parties are most welcome, whether for children, societies, clubs or just groups of friends.
Food: Offering a wide ranging and good value menu including 'All day breakfast', homemade soups, fish & chips, steak pies, lasagne, jacket potatoes, salad platters and assorted hot and cold sandwiches and toasties. Also 'Hikers Hash', served in a giant Yorkshire Pudding is especially popular with hungry outdoor types. Vegetarian options are available.

In addition, there are homemade scones, cream teas, and home baked cakes (some made by the local W.I.) featuring Victoria Sandwich, chocolate cake, coffee cake, lemon drizzle cake, date & walnut etc. The lengthy children's menu is also more imaginative than most.

A 2-course special is available on Fridays, roast dinners on Sundays and a Christmas menu will be offered during December. A take-away service, including fish & chips is also available.

Drinks: Tea by the pot, including speciality teas and herbal infusions, cafetiers of fresh coffee, hot chocolate, milk shakes and a range of cold drinks.

General: The café is situated on a back street beyond the tennis courts and part of the outdoor swimming pool area. It comprises one light, open main room with nine glass-topped tables. This is a popular local café that also attracts outdoor groups who enjoy the well-priced portions. In summer it's busy with pool-goers into the early evenings. The Hathersage outdoor lido (heated) is a gem and one of the very few left of it's kind. There's no better way to round off a swimming session, than to enjoy a drink, or snack, on the cafes newly refurbished patio. Dogs and smokers are allowed outside. Although a ramp allows wheelchair access to the café, the inside toilets are not yet wheelchair accessible. Limited parking outside, but a large pay and display car park opposite.
